Palm Kernel Shell (PKS) - Renewable Biomass Fuel for Sustainable Energy

Palm Kernel Shell (PKS) is a renewable biofuel derived from the hard shells of the palm kernel nut.  During the palm oil milling process, the kernels are separated from the fibrous palm fruit. The shells obtained after cracking the nuts are then used as a biomass fuel source.

Part of the palm kernel shells is utilized as boiler fuel in power plants and industrial facilities, while the remainder is processed into renewable palm-based biofuel.  PKS is widely recognized as an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to traditional fossil fuels.

Energy Efficiency and Calorific Value

Similar to wood pellets, lignite (Brown Coal) and peat, PKS offers a high calorific value - approximately 3500kCal/kg (LHV) and 4600kCal/kg(HHV). The moisture content is maintained below 20%, ensuring optimal combustion efficiency, low emissions, and easy of transportation.

With its consistent quality, high energy density, and renewable origin, Palm Kernel Shell is an ideal biomass fuel for renewable energy projects, industrial boilers, and sustainable power generation.
